Sometime while in Honduras I decided to submit a few of my films to this online film fest called “The Telly Awards”. I’m not one for film festivals, not because I don’t like them or anything, but because after I finish a project, I am always very quick to start working on the next one. Believe it or not, submitting to festivals takes a lot of time. But somewhere, most likely on my down time, I submitted.

Yesterday after returning from a great weekend away in Portland, I had 8 Telly Awards waiting for me! Here’s a pic of them:

I won:

I made a decision early on in this process, that I wanted it to be more about just a film; more than just something to check off a list. I wanted to involve my friends/family/former teachers in the fundraising & support process. I wanted to not just “go” to Honduras to make a film, but rather, actually LIVE there and become, at least for a little while, part of the community.

Editing is often something that is done alone and often involves very little human contact. I hate it. Sure there are moments where I get extremely excited when a shot comes together and the doc makes progress, but for the most part, it’s a long, difficult process. So, in an effort to continue to involve other people in this and make it more “communally-based”…I need your help.

Below are four screen-shots of “different” (look hard because they may appear similar) subtitle options that I am considering for the doc. Take a look at them and let me know what you think – either A, B, C, or D (if you want to view them a little bigger, just click on each picture). Reply below or @ me on Twitter: jj_starr
